VAT-Scan does not require an account. We do not knowingly collect personally identifying information beyond what is described below.

• VAT lookups: The country code and VAT number you submit are forwarded to the European Commission's VIES service for real-time validation. We do not permanently store these queries.
• Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) maintains standard access logs containing IP address, user agent, and timestamp for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained on Cloudflare's infrastructure per their policies.
• Contact form: If you use our contact form, your name, email, and message are used solely to respond to your enquiry.

2. Cookies and advertising

VAT-Scan displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads or via aboutads.info.

3. Hosting and data transfers

VAT-Scan is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Requests are routed through Cloudflare's global network, which may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides standard contractual clauses for international transfers.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability
